NEVADA CITY MOUNTAIN BIKING
Nevada City is a playground for the outdoor enthusiasts and the Inn Campground is passionate about sharing our love for adventures with our guests and locals.
With the spring weather it’s time to hit the local trails. Nevada City offers some world-class mountain biking, much of it accessible directly from downtown. If you’re looking to connect with others, think about joining BONC (Bicyclists of Nevada County), YBONC (Youth Bicyclists of Nevada County) or one of the Tour of Nevada City Bicycle Shop group rides. Or check out the Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic. “With miles of public multi-use trails trail on Tahoe National Forest, Empire Mine State Park, and Bear Yuba Land Trust, our skill clinic is designed to inspire, strengthen, build confidence and camaraderie among women. Our passion is to spread the word that mountain biking is a fun sport for everyone, and is a great connectivity to the outdoors,” explained organizer Jet Lowe. Pitch a tent, make some new friends and learn some great technique tips from pros.
Additional upcoming events include the YBONC Nevada City Dirt Classic. The course starts at 3500 ft elevation and has forest canopy, technical descents, and punchy climbs. The USAC sanctioned event is open to pros and amateurs of all ages. And don’t forget to mark you calendars for the TDS Enduro, Nevada City Enduro and the Dirt Daze.
So folks, time to get outside and get on your bikes. And if you need a local tune up check out You Bet or Tour of Nevada City Bicycle Shop.
The Bear Yuba Land Trust Trails Portal is a great resource for your next Nevada City or Grass Valley hike. Other options to check out include: Tahoe National Forest, South Yuba River and Empire Mine Historic State Park.
