We’ve been busy working away at the Inn Town Campground.  We know, everyone wants to know when we’ll be open and when can you book online, we’re working on those details, please stay tuned.

Inn Town Campground Airstream officeWe have started our infrastucture, S&P Excavating has been busy building the roads, cutting RV campsites and digging trenches for the gas, water and sewer pipes.

Dan is busy overseeing the final part of the building permit process and hopes to start construction this summer.  Most days you can either find him sitting in his 1964 Airstream office at the campground or driving around on the tractor.

The Inn Town Campground is located next door to the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum. If you’ve never been there, it’s a great place to learn about local railroad history.  The museum has been repairing the rail tracks that run between the museum, through the Inn Town Campground and over to the Northern Queen motel with the hopes of starting up the train ride later this year.  Check out their kickstarter campaign to learn more about the turn table they’re installing to help with that project.

Testing RV campsites at the Inn Town campground

We spent some time over 4th of July weekend testing locations for the future RV hook up campsites (click here for a few more photos) and ended up changing things up a bit.

Last fall the Inn Town Campground was the backdrop in a beautiful styled wedding photo shoot.  Click here to see the rest of the photos up on A Paper Proposal wedding blog, photos by Katie White Photography, styled by Tin Roof Farmhouse, flowers by Little Boy Flowers, catering by Farm to Table Catering, menus by Pigment & Parchment, Hair & Make up by Angela Nunnink.  Below are a few of our favorite photos.  We’ve already received a lot of questions about hosting weddings at the Inn Town Campground.  Although we are not a wedding venue, we’d love to provide your out-of-town guests an affordable place to stay when they come to town for your special day.  Or, maybe you’re a wedding couple who wants to camp out for your special day, surrounded by family and friends?

Finally, did you get an Inn Town Campground shirt?  We would love to see a photo of you wearing an Inn Town Campground shirt out on an adventure.  Thanks Aaron Stewart for capturing me at the South Yuba River.  If you’re on Instagram please use #InnTownCampground to share or feel free to post a photo on our Facebook page.

Hi Erin! I know this blog post mentions you aren’t a wedding venue but have have you considered it at all? 🙂 Your property is amazing. I am looking for a space that we could have our friends and family all stay together and I love the idea of camping (with varying options). I’d love to connect with you if you have entertained this idea at all!

Hi Jenna, when we say we’re not a wedding venue, we mean that we are not planning on people having an event on the property, but we’d love to host your friends and family.
