Holiday Camping

Rving

How is it already Thanksgiving week?  Who knows where the year has gone?   We are closed this week so we can spend time with our family, recharge and regroup.  We thought it was a good opportunity to check in with campers and to wish everyone happy holidays with hope for a more relaxed and healthy 2021.

Despite taking a week for our family, the Inn Town Campground will re-open to RV guests on Monday, November 30th.  We’re also accepting reservations through the end of the year and will keep our guests posted on our operating plans for January and February – we are still deciding if we want to close to spend some time with the kids.  **Edited to say, please see here for additional modifications to camp with the Shelter in Place Mandate.

If you need an easy holiday gift idea, you can purchase gift certificates online.  These are great, flexible gifts for friends and family who might be wanting a socially distant getaway. Or, if you’re looking for something to tangible to wrap, our camp store will be open 10am-5pm through the month of December.  We stock lots of fun gift ideas like local handmade Christmas ornaments, Pickle Pottery Inn Town Campground mugs, wine openers, stickers, magnets and fun hand made greeting cards.  We also have some fun Nevada City gear– water bottles, t-shirts, wooden stickers and coffee mugs.

Holiday Camping

Maybe it’s time to sneak away for a holiday getaway?  The Nevada City Chamber of Commerce recently announced that the annual Victorian Christmas celebration is not going to happen this year in the traditional sense, but for those of you who are looking to celebrate the seasons, there are still opportunities to do so, from a socially distant perspective.  The Outside Inn’s blog has some suggestions on ways to support local this holiday season, check out this post for more ideas.

Our top tips for decorating your campsite include:

  • Pack lights, if you don’t have string lights, don’t forget to check out the solar Luci Lights in the camp store.
  • Bring a fake Christmas tree and a few ornaments
  • Get an inflatable holiday snowman (no snow required)
  • Bring along a wreath
  • Grab some holiday table decorations and have a picnic outside
  • Make a garland
  • Hang your stockings in the tree
  • Bring your favorite decorative holiday pillows

In the spirit of the holidays, here are some of my favorite holiday camp set-ups from over the years…  because we all need a little extra cheer this year.  We love being able to provide our campers a place to come and experience the magic of outdoors, so from all of us at camp, happy camper vibes to those near and far.
