Spring camping season

Glamping

Spring camping has arrived and the campground is happy to welcome back the sounds of happy campers.  We are getting closer to open the pool (remember it’s not heated, so it’s refreshing at this time of the year), but we’ll make noise on social media when it’s open, definitely before Memorial Day weekend.  It’s been fun to see more spring tent campers and have folks roasting s’mores and enjoying the outdoor movies.  It feels like winter lasted forever this year, but the 85 degree weather this past weekend was a welcome treat!  I realize we’re all getting a bit antsy with the winter that never seems to end.  So, while I say this every month, but now certainly seems like a great time to go camping.  We gave our website a bit of a refresh, remember you can always look inside a glamping tent or check out our 360 degree tour if you’re looking for more information on which site is best for you.

We recently had our first EV truck pull a camper (we’ve had a couple of Teslas and some EV tow vehicles before), but fun to chat with our campers on their maiden voyage with their new rig.  If you’re traveling with an electric vehicle and looking for information about camp or local charging stations, we’ve updated the website with more information and info on the latest charging stations in downtown Nevada City.

It’s been great to have school groups, friends gathering for mountain bike rides, family gatherings, Easter celebrations.  The outdoor movies are back for Friday and Saturday evenings and mid-week by request.  The Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum’s rail bus is also back on the tracks. Click here to see the time table and more info about the museum.  We’ve also restocked our camp store with some great new branded gear, some new Inn Town Campground goodies (we listened and got more stickers, magnets and more kid toys), plus the camping essentials (craft beer, organic wine, It’s It ice cream sandwiches, marshmallows, ice and travel mugs).   We’re excited to continue to showcase new and fun camp goodies, stay tuned to our social media accounts for more ideas on all the things you didn’t know you needed.

We have been trying to stay current on our Instagram Lives (click here for the various updates).  We recently did a quick look inside our newest glamping tent, G1.  For those who need a reference list for the tents that have been converted to the new style, with the wood frame and doors, the glamping tents are #1, #8-15, 20, 21, 23 an 25, plus the Sweetwater Tent.

Folks have asked about the Commons and the kitchen, just so you know all facilities are open, hours adjust with the season, but on the weekends the kitchen is open to campers between 7:30am and 9:00pm.  It’s a great option for those who are looking to cook, but don’t want to bring the whole camp kitchen, or those who might need a place to warm up (or cool down in the summer).

We know folks are trying to plan their future trips and it’s been great to have so many community events back on the schedule this year.  Here are a few of the upcoming things to plan for….  and if you’re looking for 10 different reasons to come this weekend, check out our Pinterest board on local happenings.

And it’s great to see so many live music events, if you’re looking for a round up of concerts and events check out: The Center for the Arts, Miners Foundry Cultural Center, Nevada Theatre, InConcert Sierra, Music in the Mountains or even some of the smaller venues like Crazy Horse Saloon in downtown Nevada City.

The summer dates are filling up, so if you’re interested in coming camping this summer, it’s definitely time to make a reservation.  And if you’ve made it this far and are as excited about summer camping as we are, we’ve got a spring fever special.  Dust off the camping gear and make a new reservation Sunday-Thursday in the next 2 weeks and we’ll give you 20% off, valid for glamping reservations only.  We want to help encourage you to kick off the camping season, so take a spontaneous week-day getaway and come hang out at the Inn Town Campground.  We’ve also lowered our tent camping rates for week days, so if you were looking to extend your weekend and/or come for a Tuesday camping trip, we are offering weekday discounts.
