Fall Camping

Hello September!  2021 has been a tough year for a lot of people, so we want to say thanks to all the amazing campers who have come and visited us this summer.  Although summer is waning and Labor Day is behind us, we’re still open for great fall camping.  While we’re all being impacted by the wildfires in California, we want to remind our campers that we are open and honoring all reservations.  Fortunately, the crowds are lower in autumn, so you can wait to book for when the weather suits your needs.  Please remember that if you do decided to book, please review our cancellation policies, as we do not make exceptions for weather (e.g. heat, rain or smoke).  For those who are looking for more live updates, check out our Instagram IGTV channel, where we been doing live updates every couple of weeks on operations at camp.

We continue to show kid friendly films on Fridays & Saturdays evenings on our outdoor screen (weather permitting).  We have a couple more weeks of our swimming pool, so if you want to take a refreshing dip, come camping soon.

We are excited to say the Inn Town Campground has been included in the USA Today Best 10 for Campgrounds and RV Parks in the US.   We also appreciated the shout out on Bon Traveler’s Best Glamping Spots in California and Outside magazine’s Last Minute Labor Day ideas.  We also got a shout out in the Swedish Magazine Expressen, “The coolest spots for glamping in the world.”

Who’s ready for Halloween?  If you’ve ever been to the Outside Inn or Nevada City towards the end of October, you know that we take Halloween very seriously here.  The Inn Town Campground is excited to say will continue our haunted pathway this year, although with some COVID-19 modifications.  The decorations will be up for the entire month of October, so plenty of time to enjoy the socially distant fun.

Fall is also the time of the year when everywhere I look, I’m pleasantly surprised by the pops of color.  If you’ve never visited Nevada City at this time of the year, it’s a great time to take a fall colors walk around town, check out an event or go for a hike along the South Yuba River.

With the wind down from Labor Day, we’ve had many people ask when we’re closing for the year. No final determination has been made for the winter, but are fully open through October for glamping and taking RV bookings through December 31st.  If you have been thinking about coming for the Nevada City Victorian Christmas street fair, people are planning their December travels.  The dates for the 2021 event are: December 5, 8, 12, 15 and 19.  After that, we will start adjusting some of our winter availability.  We’ll keep you posted once we make final decisions.  For now, we’ve just released a mid-week glamping special on our booking engine, so if you’re looking for an excuse for a fall camp trip, here’s a little extra savings.  So, whether it’s a girls getaway, staycation, or family outing, there is still plenty of camping left this fall.

We fully encourage you to bring your fall and Halloween spirit to the campground.  We’d love to see how you decorate for the holidays.  For those of your worried about the cooler evenings, you can rent one of our propane gas fire pits for your site.

So what’s happening in town? Well, fall is approaching, and I love fall!  I love everything about it.  The weather is cooler, but still warm.  Halloween is on the horizon and lazy days at the river are still a reality.  For those of you who aren’t familiar with all of the fun in September & October here are a few events to check out:

And for those of you who made it this far, we’re excited to share that we’ve got a mid-week glamping  special, book two or more consecutive nights of glamping or tent camping Sunday-Thursday and get the 2nd night half off.  Valid only for new online reservations for midweek stays through October 31st.

Despite the challenges of COVID, forest fires and the continual changing of plans, we’re proud of being able to show up and continue to provide consistent top notch accommodation.  We get many repeat guests who come year after year and many new guests who get to experience the Inn Town Campground and Nevada City for the first time. We appreciate them all and thank you for supporting our business and our community.  Many visitors swim in the river, attend local events, celebrate loved ones at weddings and take advantage of many of the kid friendly activities we have in our community.  So thanks to all the repeat guests, the newcomers and locals who sent their family and friends to hang out with us this year,  we feel honored to be able to play a part of people’s summer fun.
