February Camping

Nevada City

Airstream with Valentine's decor

Who’s ready for Valentine’s Day?  But if you are looking for some creative ways to celebrate, check out the InnSide Nevada City blog for some great local suggestions on things to do and ways to share the love.  I’ve also updated our Pinterest board with ideas, we love the idea of a romantic camping trip or a gift certificate, but really you can celebrate your loved one any day of the year…

Nevada City

Nevada City doesn’t let winter get in the way of a good small town fun.  This month we have the Wild & Scenic Film Festival and the Mardi Gras parade.  Or maybe you want to celebrate winter wonderland and enjoy a midweek getaway, head up to the Tahoe National Forest and go snow shoeing?

Kitchen

There are not many campgrounds open in the winter / off-season.  We will be open for RV and tent camping on February 16th.  Glamping will re-open beginning in March.  With the Commons and its relaxing, warm hang-out areas, plus fully stocked kitchen, camping in the winter at the Inn Town Campground is easy!  So, for those of you who’ve got cabin fever and want to bring out your RV, van or roof top tent, we welcome you.  We’re only 45 minutes from Sugar Bowl, Boreal and Royal Gorge, if you want to do some skiing or snowboarding.  Or, if skiing doesn’t sound fun in the warm weather, Nevada City is home to a great network of hiking and biking trails.

History hike

If you’re looking for some fun local events, the Folk Trails Hiking Club hikes coming up and check out the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum Women’s History month events, “Who’s Sarah Kidder?”.  And we’ve got some more activities coming later this spring, mark you calendars for annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8th (3:30pm).  Otherwise, it’s been exciting the last few weeks as we help people plan their upcoming spring and summer camping trips.  We’ve talked to people coming for birthday parties, family reunions, local events and weddings, it’s great that folks are getting into the camping spirit.

We’ve been working behind the scenes to keep updating things at camp.  Tune into our February IGTV live for a few more updates.  We’re excited to share the final results of some of our glamping tent improvements, but we’re not quite finished.   To follow what’s happening at camp, make sure to check out our InstagramFacebookPinterest, TikTok or Twitter feeds.  If you’re looking for more local ideas, check out the Visit Nevada City Instagram feed or InnSide Nevada City blog.  As always, we love hearing from our campers and look forward to seeing you round the campfire.
