Spring has arrived in Nevada City and we’re all so excited to see the blue skies and flowers (and yes, we know it’s going to rain again, but we’re thinking positive thoughts over here).  It’s great to welcome back the sounds of happy campers at the Inn Town Campground.  We’re excited to say we’re in the final stretch of voting for the USA Today 10Best RV Campground, so if you want to give us an extra vote, we’d appreciate it.  It’s been fun to see more spring tent campers and have folks roasting s’mores and enjoying the outdoor movies.  It feels like winter lasted forever this year, but the 75 degree weather this past weekend was a welcome treat!  And the Crystal Hermitage Tulip Gardens just announced they extended their dates by another week, so check out their website to make a reservation before they close. I realize we’re all getting a bit antsy with the winter that never seems to end.  So, while I say this every month, but now certainly seems like a great time to go camping.  Remember you can always look inside a glamping tent or check out our 360 degree tour if you’re looking for more information on which site is best for you.

We have had more EV campers lately, always fun to chat with our campers on how they’re making it work, whether with an electric tow vehicle or a Rivian pulling the trailer.  If you’re traveling with an electric vehicle and looking for information about camp or local charging stations, we’ve updated the website with more information and info on the latest charging stations in downtown Nevada City.

Camp Store

It’s been great to have school groups, friends gathering for mountain bike rides, family gatherings, Easter celebrations.  The outdoor movies are back for Friday and Saturday evenings and mid-week by request.  The Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum’s railbus is also back on the tracks. Click here to see the time table and more info about the museum.  We’ve also restocked our camp store with some great new branded gear, some new Inn Town Campground goodies (we listened and got more stickers, magnets and more kid toys), plus the camping essentials (craft beer, organic wine, It’s It ice cream sandwiches, marshmallows, ice and travel mugs).   We’re excited to continue to showcase new and fun camp goodies, stay tuned to our social media accounts for more ideas on all the things you didn’t know you needed.

We recently shared on social media that after several years of upgrading our glamping tents we have completed the project.  All 20 of our glamping tents now have the wooden frame, doors, windows and higher ceilings.  And this year we changed our dog policy to welcome dogs in all of the glamping tents, the exception being the Yurt.  If you’re interested in looking inside any of the tents check out our Nevada City Glamping gallery on our website.

Folks have asked about the Commons and the kitchen, just so you know all facilities are open, hours adjust with the season, but on the weekends the kitchen is open to campers between 7:30am and 9:00pm.  It’s a great option for those who are looking to cook, but don’t want to bring the whole camp kitchen, or those who might need a place to warm up (or cool down in the summer).

We know folks are trying to plan their future trips and it’s been great to have so many community events back on the schedule this year.  Here are a few of the upcoming things to plan for….  and if you’re looking for 14 different reasons to come this weekend, check out our Pinterest board on local happenings.  And for those of you who love a last minute giveaway, check out our Instagram account for tickets and camping to this weekend’s KVMR Celtic Festival.

And it’s great to see so many live music events, if you’re looking for a round up of concerts and events check out: The Center for the Arts, Miners Foundry Cultural Center, Nevada Theatre, InConcert Sierra, Music in the Mountains or even some of the smaller venues like Crazy Horse Saloon in downtown Nevada City.  And we love celebrating and sharing about local theatre productions, so check out our Things to Do in Nevada City page for more information on upcoming events.

Glamping Special

The summer dates are filling up, so if you’re interested in coming camping this summer, it’s definitely time to make a reservation.  And if you’ve made it this far and are as excited about summer camping as we are, we’ve got a spring fever special.  Dust off the camping gear and make a new reservation Sunday-Thursday in the next 2 weeks and we’ll give you 15% off, valid for glamping reservations only.  And if you can’t make a 2 day getaway we also have a book online night and get 10% off sale.   We want to help encourage you to kick off the camping season, so take a spontaneous week-day getaway and come hang out at the Inn Town Campground.  We’ve also lowered our tent camping rates for week days, so if you were looking to extend your weekend and/or come for a Tuesday camping trip, we are offering weekday discounts.

To follow us along, make sure to check out our InstagramFacebook, Pinterest, TikTok or Threads feeds, if you’re looking for more local ideas, check out the Visit Nevada City Instagram feed or the Visit Nevada City’s blog.
