Winter Camping in Nevada City

Yurt

Airstream

Hello 2025!  Anyone else have a New Years Resolution to camp more often!  The Inn Town Campground is open year round, so if you’re looking to tackle that goal, like immediately, come for a visit!  You can make same day bookings online till 4pm.  Our camp store hours at the moment are 11am-4pm for Jan/Feb, but we’ve partnered with Campground Support to expand our phone-in reservation hours from 6am to 6pm.  The camp store returns calls and emails daily, combined with our new longer reservation and Erin’s always responding to social media questions, means we’re more accessible than ever.  Finally, our glamping tents are currently closed until March, but the Family Yurt is open and available during the winter months with heat (thank you LivingInTent Yurt for insulation and Dan for working on different heater options).

Film Festival

For those of you have winter camping goals and want to bring out your RV, van or even your tent, we look forward to welcoming you.  We’re only 45 minutes from Sugar Bowl and Royal Gorge, if you want to do some spring skiing or snowboarding.  We also recommend checking out Boreal, Donner Ski Ranch and Soda Springs for close to Nevada City skiing options.  Also, don’t forget the Wild & Scenic Film Festival is February 13-15, 2025, so if you’re interested in learning more about the event or watching a film or 10, check out the line up.  Nevada City is also home to a great network of hiking and biking trails, just pay attention to the weather before you head outside to make sure you’ve got the right gear.  And if you’re looking to celebrate Valentine’s Day, we’ve got a fun post on how you could celebrate love at the campground. We are huge fans of experiential presents like camping or dining.  Maybe combine a night in the Yurt with dinner at a local restaurant.  Or, you can show your love with a gift certificate to camp or a local shop – who says you have to celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14th?  There are many other great winter activities in Nevada City and Grass Valley, including the Chinese Lunar New Year event, Sunday, February 23rd, and the annual Nevada City Mardi Gras parade, on Saturday, March 1st..  These are just a few of our winter adventures; what’s your favorite thing to do?

Don’t forget that spring and summer are just around the corner.  Many campers start planning their summer trips in February and March, so if you’ve got a date in mind, check out our availability and book early – especially for summer weekends, which tend to fill up fast for RVs and Glamping.  Need some inspiration, check out our Top 12 reasons to go camping in spring
