Summer camping season is in full swing at the campground and it’s been a blast having so many happy campers.  We’ve already got folks planning their 2026 adventures, but for those of you who are little more spur of the moment we still have options for all varieties of camping during the week, click here for availability.  Tonight is the final Nevada City Art Walk is tonight, the Nevada County Fair is coming to town next week and it’s always a great day to go for a swim in the South Yuba River. While it’s been delightful in Nevada City and we all keep dreaming of things cooling off… with kids starting school right around the corner, it’s time to squeeze the most of out these remaining summer days, the flows at the South Yuba River are finally down to low levels (but keep in mind the water level at Scotts Flat and Rollins Lake are also low).

For those who’ve been dreaming of a getaway to Nevada City, here are a few upcoming events:

South Yuba River

One of the great summer activities in Nevada City is to go swimming at the South Yuba River.  For those concerned about safety and river awareness, please monitor the river flows and continue to have river safety awareness when swimming.  Or if you want to participate in the annual SYRCL River Clean up, September 20th, sign up online.  We have directions to the river in our camp store for campers, so feel free to ask us for more swimming hole information.  Or, for our campers who are looking for something refreshing but closer, you can always lounge by our swimming pool.  No matter what your outdoor adventure preference, we’ve got great suggestions for those visiting us at the Inn Town Campground (biking, hiking, swimming holes, etc.).

Staying at Inn Town Campground for a few days and searching for fun activities in the area? We recommend checking out our partner Tributary Whitewater for a guided white water rafting trip on the Middle Fork American River. A perfect pairing for your Nevada City vacation, their rafting trips run all summer long and have 1/2 day options for young families (ages 4+) via the Lower Middle Fork. Looking for a bit more spice? Hop on the famed 1-day Class IV Middle Fork trip and head down Tunnel Chute! For an unique experience that only runs in the spring, you don’t want to miss their North Yuba River rafting trips – a sought after run that doesn’t go every year.

Glamping

We’ve had so many happy glampers this summer, from birthday gatherings, to couple getaways to staycations, so if you’ve been meaning to add a Nevada City glamping getaway to your summer bucket list, come visit.

And while we definitely feel in the full summer mode right now, it’s never too early to start planning your Halloween decorations.  Remember we celebrate the Halloween spirit for the entire month of October (and often the last weekend of September).

To follow everything happening at camp, make sure to check out our InstagramFacebook, Pinterest, TikTok  feeds.  If you’re looking for more local ideas, check out the Visit Nevada City Instagram feed or the InnSide Nevada City blog.  Many thanks to those who have cheered us along, we love meeting fans in real life at the campground.  Thanks for making the summer so much fun!  It’s a lot of work, but we appreciate all the happy campers.
